My Philosophy of Art 01
Art does not need to be beautiful. It can be very ugly. It can be frightening. What art does need to be, though, is visually compelling. For whatever reason, people have to look at it, and they have to look at it long enough to think about what you're trying to say or express.

I agree. Art must make you think, re-evaluate. The best art will stop you in your tracks - you may not know why, but it'll eat away at you. Perhaps, it's all about being given a new perspective, or a confirmation of a thought.
